About Us

Who We Are?

Founded in 2008, Miramichi Adult Learning is a non-profit organization funded by the New Brunswick Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labor.

Our organization covers a vast territory, namely the areas of Boiestown, Blackville, Newcastle, Chatham, Natoaganeg, Esgenoopetitj, Baie-Sainte-Anne and Rogersville.

Our main goal is still the same, to promote the importance of education and provide services that meet the needs of learners within the greater Miramichi region.

Mission

Our mission is to provide adult learners within the Miramichi Region a wide range of learning opportunities which will meet individual learner needs, as well as provide a supportive and rich learning environment for adult learners. Our programs are designed to prepare adult learners to achieve their educational, work-related or career goals, as well as personal needs.

Vision

We want to be a leader in promoting the importance of adult education, and we want the broader community to be aware of this importance as well. Our main goal is to enhance the role of education in our communities and improve people's perceptions of adult education.

Values

Respect:

Adult learners have a variety of needs and challenges that should be respected. We have to treat others like we would like to be treated. Remember… respect is one of our most fundamental values.

Adult Learning:

MALI is committed to adult learning. The learners should experience a positive learning environment with an approach conducive to their needs and expectations.

Self Esteem:

By providing a positive learning environment, our learners not only benefit from an increase in their literacy levels but also an increase in their self-esteem.
